Task 18: Planning of Practical Remake

Practical Remake Activity

Planning

Cherise plays Tom Cruise
Ashleigh plays the other character
Extra cast members are played by people who walk through Angel

Reasoning: Represents the location in the movies title sequence well


1.) SHOT ONE- Mid shot of Cherise (Tom Cruise) walking towards the camera through a crowd.

 2.) SHOT TWO- Mid Shot of Ashleigh walking towards the camera through people.


 3.) SHOT THREE- Close up of Cherise.


4.) SHOT FOUR- Two shot of characters bumping into each other.


5.) SHOT FIVE- Close up as both characters drop their bags.


6.) SHOT SIX- Over the shoulder shot of characters conversing.


7.) SHOT SEVEN- Mid shot of characters picking up each others bags.

8.) SHOT EIGHT- Over the shoulder/ Close up of Cherise as she walks away.

We will need to make sure there are people walking around to create a sense of busyness

Task 13: Film Analysis

Name of Film: World War Z

Micro Analysis:


  • Camera :-
    • Wide shots
    • Long shots
  • Mise-en-scene :- 
    • Animals that were once harmonious turned on each other 
    • An image of the calm sea 
  • Editing :- 
    • Diagonal lines going through the screen distorting the images on the screen
    • Straight cuts
  • Sound :- 
    • News updates --> gives the audience all the information they need to put them where they need to be at the start of the film
    • Calm headlines are read during the first half of the title sequence
    • Towards the end of title sequence the news readings become more distressing

Macro Analysis:


  • The key plot idea that is introduced in the title sequence is that the entire world has been infected with some sort of virus.

  • The story line is only hinted at through images of the virus spreading

    • Due to the actual title of the film and the special effects used during the title sequence the audience is able to make the link between the main character and some sort of spider
    • Spider-Man and his rival Green Goblin are clearly introduced during the title sequence. Spider-Man's hand and Green Goblin's mask is is shown

    The reasons they said that is because they are entertaining, funny and engaging. They said that they like being on edge and the intenseness of thrillers and action films. Comedies are just humorous and fun to watch with friends.
