Pitch 3) Film Genre (Leilani)

The genre that we have chosen is British Crime Drama. We chose this genre because we wanted our film to be relatable to our target audience. We also found that playing teenagers were the easiest characters to portray as we can understand them and therefore make it convincing.

The first film that inspired the construction of our title sequence was Adulthood. In the opening scene of the film it shows brief shots of each character that was involved in the traumatic events of the previous film. We intend on using the idea of having shots of each of us leaving our houses, showing that we come from different backgrounds but we are all apart of the same group.

Even though it is not a British Crime Drama the second film that we looked at inspired the story line of our film and title sequence. From watching brief clips of Girlhood it seems like it is about a girl that gets involved in a girl gang. There is some sort of rivalry with a neighbouring gang and the film shows her story. What we have taken from this film is to have the plot of our film and title sequence to be about a group of girls that are involved in a gang showing their individual stories as to how they came to be in the gang and the struggles that they have to face.
